Throughout the process of moving, we were also preparing items for the shops, filing the necessary paperwork, getting a business license, and of course we had to find a name.
We wrote pages and pages of key words that we liked. We combined them, mixed them up and agonized over it for a long while. Alan has always had an interest in Norse mythology, so Ravens were a theme that we kept coming back to. We were throwing around "Two Ravens" but just weren't sure. We deliberated about it one night and decided to sleep on it and see how we felt the next morning.
Alan woke the next morning, made his coffee, and went out onto the front porch for his morning porch sitting before starting his day. He looked up into the trees in our front yard and saw this (forgive the quality of the photo, but I think you can get the gist):
Two large Ravens sat on a tree branch together in our tree. So, at that point the decision was made. "Two Ravens: Tool & Craft" was officially born in name.
We set to planning our logo. Alan made a rough drawing/mock up to show his mom, who is our go to for all graphic design.
We went back and forth for a good while while his Mom worked painstakingly on every detail of the logo. When it was all said and done, we ended up with the logo we have today and we just love it! The origin story of how we came to name the place is one of my favorites.
